During a field mission to clear pests from a spiritual wheat crop, Tả Mạc was possessed by a Bồ yêu (a fairy-like demon) seed. This incident transformed his fate from a humble farmer to an inner sect disciple with burgeoning powers. Although his talents did not lie in swordsmanship, his stubborn and resolute personality, coupled with guidance from the Bồ yêu, led to his proficiency in sword techniques.

As Tả Mạc rose in the ranks of the sect, his mysterious background slowly unraveled. Despite disliking sword cultivation and having a passion for gardening and pill concoction, he prioritized earning money as a means of gaining power to revive his lost memory and uncover his identity.

Tả Mạc understood that without martial prowess, he may never regain his memory or learn his true identity, leading him to devote himself to sword cultivation until his last breath.
